IXONOS SETS UP SERVICE CENTRE IN CHINA
In order to prepare for growth in the coming years, Ixonos strongly raises its
service capacity by establishing a software production and software testing
service-centre in China. The operations will begin in Beijing during the current
quarter. Ixonos aims to increase its specialist staff in the Far East to
several hundred during the first couple of operational years.
The launch of service production in China implements Ixonos' strategy of
striving to serve its partner customers globally where they are present,
flexibly and cost-efficiently, and to expand its clientele. The office in China
will provide specialist services to local telecommunications players, as well
as to the Group's other international customers in the telecommunications
industry.
”During the last couple of years, we have established international service
centres in Estonia and Slovakia. We have done this both in order to be able to
increase our specialist staff in proportion to demand, and to maintain our
competitiveness in globalized competition. Expansion into China is a natural
continuation to the implementation of our strategy”, says Kari Happonen, the
Group's President and CEO. ”Our presence in China opens up possibilities to
deepen our existing customer relationships as well as to put our expertise to
use in new international accounts”, Happonen continues.
