Microsemi Slashes Lead Time for Most Popular CCFL Inverter Modules

Eight-Week Shipment Capability Geared to Support Supply Chain Flexibility

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 17, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance analog/mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors, announced today it has slashed lead times on its most popular single and multi-lamp CCFL inverter modules used widely in LCD backlighting solutions for gaming, automatic teller machine and point of sale equipment. Select LXMG inverter modules can now be ordered with an eight-week lead time for shipments exceeding 500 units.

The change, responding to customer requirements for increased flexibility in their supply chain management, has received a positive response from the industry.

"Microsemi has been supplying great products for several years," said Keith Brown, General Manager Hitachi Electronic Devices. "We are thrilled to see this further step to support our business model which requires flexibility in demand forecasting."

Microsemi's LXMG single and multi-lamp CCFL inverter modules offer advanced features which simplify inventory management, maximize the quality of the display and extend the life of the panel. Microsemi's PanelMatch(tm) allows one inverter module SKU to operate with many panel SKUs using optimized lamp current selection. Microsemi's RangeMax(tm) digital dimming is used to extend the life of the panel while optimizing the display's brightness. Analog dimming is also available on many LXMG inverter modules. All of Microsemi's LXMG inverter modules are UL certified components, UL60950 E175910.

"We strive to meet both the technical and supply chain challenges of our customers," said Steve Litchfield, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Microsemi's Analog Mixed Signal Group, "Hitachi is a valued and long standing customer and we are pleased to meet their needs for order flexibility."
