CTS EVENTIM and Live Nation confirm partnership
Long-term alliance with Live Nation remains in full effect / Planned merger
of Live Nation and Ticketmaster without impact on existing agreements /
Cooperation in America and Europe already successfully launched
Munich, 6 March 2009 - CTS EVENTIM and Live Nation will fully honour their
commitments under the ten-year agreement they concluded in December 2007. A
planned merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster will have no detrimental
impact on the partnership. This has now been confirmed by the two companies
in Germany and the U.S.A. 'This removes all speculation. We have never
doubted the contractual fidelity of Live Nation', commented Klaus-Peter
Schulenberg, CEO of CTS EVENTIM AG.
The Munich-based CTS EVENTIM AG group, which is listed on the SDAX exchange
(ISIN DE0005470306), is leader of the European ticketing market and a
provider of live entertainment; Live Nation Worldwide Inc. is domiciled in
Los Angeles and is the world's biggest live events company. In December
2007, the two companies agreed on the terms of an extensive alliance. The
essence of the alliance is that Live Nation receive a licence for CTS
ticketing software in North America and that CTS EVENTIM take over the
ticketing operation on behalf of Live Nation for many national markets in
Europe.
In North America, Live Nation is successfully deploying the ticketing
software developed by CTS EVENTIM. Most Live Nation venues have meanwhile
been switched to the CTS EVENTIM systems, and pre-sales for major concert
tours in 2009 are now being handled with the new software. In Europe, CTS
EVENTIM has already taken over the ticketing operation for Live Nation
using its existing infrastructure in Sweden, Finland, Poland and the
Netherlands, with the Czech Republic, Hungary, Great Britain and Norway to
follow shortly.
