LANXESS decided to propose dividend of EUR 0,50 per share 

Leverkusen -  Following a respective proposal by the Board of Management of
LANXESS AG, the supervisory board of LANXESS AG has decided to propose to
the annual stockholders' meeting - taking place on May 7, 2009 - to resolve
upon the payment of a dividend in the amount of EUR 0.50 per share. LANXESS
would therefore like its stockholders to once again participate in the
company's success, while adjusting the level of the proposed dividend to
reflect the general lack of predictability in the development of the global
economy and the company's most important sales markets.
