Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (CPSI) Awarded a Request for Proposal (RFP) from Clark County, Nevada (the Nation's 15th-Largest County) for Its EZ Card and Kiosk Solutions

CPSI's Financial and Proprietary Kiosk Technology Streamlines the Inmate Booking, Trust Account Funding and Release Process, and Provides Unparalleled Cashless Solutions for Correctional Facilities

FRESNO, Calif., June 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CPSZ), announced today that its EZ Card and Kiosk system solutions for detention facilities has been awarded a "Request for Proposal (RFP)" from Clark County Jail Facility, Nevada. The RFP, announced recently at the Clark County Commissioner's meeting, calls for EZ Card and Kiosk and the County to enter into contract negotiations over the next 30 days.

The jail facility has approximately 3,500 beds, serving the detention needs of Clark County. The implementation of this innovative system, as well as the training process, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2009. The facility will be incorporating many of EZ Card and Kiosk's solutions, including inmate trust account money loads, bail payments through lobby kiosks, remote web-based transactions, booking kiosks and inmate release debit cards.

"Winning the Clark County RFP is the cumulative result from ongoing positive feedback from the detention facility industry," said Gregg Hodge, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. "We are very pleased, since the entire process required over eight months of hard work to complete, with strong competition along the way. Now we can begin finalizing the multi-year contract and bringing all of EZ Card and Kiosk's services into play at this large facility, saving them time and money."

The technology will be displayed at the Annual Conference of the National Sheriff's Association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 21-22, 2009. Additional information about EZ Card and Kiosk solutions is available on the company's website www.ezcardandkiosk.com

About Continental Prison Systems Inc.

Continental Prison Systems Inc. (CPSI), dba EZ Card & Kiosk, is the first kiosk, internet payment and release debit card provider to successfully introduce a full-suite solution for the "Cashless Jail". The company offers innovative solutions to city and county jails designed to streamline and reduce many of the operational and personnel costs required to properly manage detention facilities. Via its proprietary software, teamed with customized kiosk hardware and remote secure website technology, EZ Card & Kiosk has gone virtually cashless. The kiosk is similar in appearance to a "Stand-Alone" ATM, but has many specialized functions for booking, bail and trust account funding that can be used by officers, inmates, and family members. Our goal is to help convert the jail into a 'cashless' environment through the use of kiosks for in-coming cash and the issuance of a debit card to an inmate at the time of his/her release. In doing so, the facility is relieved from repeatedly handling cash, further reducing errors and fraud.
