Customers Rank Syntel Among the 50 Best Global Outsourcers for the Third Straight Year

TROY, Mich., June 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Syntel, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNT), a global information technology services and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) company, today announced that it has been named to The Black Book of Outsourcing's 2009 "50 Best Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors" list, as announced in The Wall Street Journal.

Syntel jumped 22 spots from last year to rank #27 on the current list, which was tabulated based on survey responses from nearly 24,000 technology executives. To qualify, at least ten unique, verifiable client votes were required.

More than 1,600 qualified vendors from 45 countries were evaluated during the course of the survey process, which rated service providers against 31 management criteria and 18 key performance indicators. To rank in the top 50, a vendor must score in the top one percent of the nearly 4,900 vendors included in the Black Book's database.

According to Keshav Murugesh, Syntel's CEO and President, the findings reflect Syntel's ability to deliver value to its customers.

"Being included in this prestigious list is both an honor and a testament to the hard work put in every day by Syntellers worldwide," said Murugesh. "We have always taken a great deal of pride in being flexible and responsive to our clients' business needs, and this ranking is great validation that our customers appreciate the high level of service and value that Syntel brings to their businesses."
