Witness This Girl's Hard Life -- New Book Emphasizes the Cultural Conflicts, Prejudice, and Hostile Minds That Minorities Encounter in Society

BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Sept. 17, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xlibris, the leading print-on-demand publishing services provider, announces the release of Ma'ling, a new book of hard life, abuse and sorrows authored by Willa Ruff.

Ma'ling follows the experiences of a young girl named Marya who, with her brother, lived with an alcoholic mother struggling to deal with the pain of being deserted by her husband. When their mother did not return home after several days, Marya and her brother were sent to their grandmother. As it turns out, their grandmother is an overly-strict and abusive Christian who ruled her church and her home with an iron fist. Each day, Marya and her brother were forced to do her bidding with house chores and other orders, in return for living with her.

Years later, the boy ran away and Marya found herself alone with her grandmother's wrath. Along the way, Marya struggled to gain acceptance at school and around the neighborhood, as most people looked down on her due to her ethnicity. With so much pain and rejection around her, how long can Marya last? The outcome awaits readers.

Dramatic and compelling, Ma'ling strongly emphasizes the cultural conflicts, prejudice and hostile minds that minorities encounter in society. Readers who wish to order a copy of this book are encouraged to visit Xlibris.com or call (888) 795-4274 today.
