TotalTrainer Launches Integrated Training and Nutrition Platform for the Club Fitness Industry

Personalized Training and Nutrition Gives Gym Goers Optimal Fitness Results and Enables Health Clubs to Achieve Greater Revenues

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 22, 2009) - DEMOfall 09 -- TotalTrainer LLC today introduced TotalTrainer, an on demand platform for the delivery of personalized fitness training and nutrition guidance, to help health clubs and gyms deliver optimal fitness results, maximize client satisfaction, and generate new revenues.

Launched here today at the DEMOfall 09 conference, TotalTrainer addresses the two biggest requirements gyms and health clubs need to support their members in achieving their fitness goals: the need to provide dietary guidance, which accounts for approximately 80 percent of fitness results, and the need to provide cost-effective personalized training and nutrition services.

Today, personal training costs an average of $600 a month, while the cost of a nutrition plan ranges from $300 to $800 a month. TotalTrainer makes integrated and personalized fitness training and nutrition support at a fraction of the cost, making it accessible to the average gym goer.

At the heart of the TotalTrainer system is Nutri-Guru™, the system's virtual nutrition coach and artificial intelligence component that drives the TotalTrainer meal engine to dynamically generate virtually endless meal options that meet each user's specific preferences and diet parameters. Users also get a water intake guide and supplement plan. TotalTrainer also creates a handy grocery list that can be printed or accessed via smart phone.

The system supports more than 2 million meal options, and users can also choose from healthy menu items from 70 restaurants. TotalTrainer also is the only solution on the market today that accommodates food preferences, food allergies and intolerances down to the individual ingredient level.

The system also offers access to more than 300 healthy recipes through TotalTrainer's partnership with fitness chef and former pro bodybuilder Laura Creavalle. One of the most successful female bodybuilders of the 90s, Creavalle is a chef, fitness trainer and author of numerous cookbooks focused on healthy cooking. Additionally, she has been a feature editor for Muscle & Fitness magazine on low fat cooking in the publication's Muscle Fare column.

Trainees view and track their diet and workouts -- complete with integrated video exercise instruction -- via interactive logs that provide fitness personnel with comprehensive feedback loops, establishing a true gym-member partnership critical for success. And both users and trainers can view graphical dashboards to assess progress.

TotalTrainer also features a comprehensive suite of productivity tools for fitness professionals:

-- The TotalTrainer Exercise Configurator allows trainers to set up
exercises, routines and training programs quickly and easily via a "digital
clipboard" leveraging drag and drop functionality. Trainers can select from
more than 500 industry-standard strength, flexibility, and cardio
exercises, or create their own. This enables fitness professionals to
create customized exercise programs for a specific client, or general
programs for use with multiple clients.

-- The TotalTrainer online diet tool enables trainers to set up
individualized client nutrition plans in minutes. With the TotalTrainer
Diet Advisor™, trainers can leverage the proprietary TotalTrainer diet
formulas aimed at achieving various fitness goals, such as fat burning,
maximizing muscle, and/or improving energy and enhancing athletic
performance, or use their own diet equation.

-- TotalTrainer also features a fully-integrated online body fat analysis
package along with dynamic appointment calendaring and scheduling.

"With obesity levels at near-epidemic proportions, it's vital that fitness and nutrition tools be made accessible to everyone," said Darin MacDonald, president and CEO, TotalTrainer LLC. "At TotalTrainer, we're unlocking the fitness code by putting both the right tools and knowledge in the hands of real people. Our nutrition methodology combines the latest scientific knowledge with secrets gleaned from the world of bodybuilders and fitness models.

"TotalTrainer gives gyms a personalized, value added offering that enables them to better service their clients, and increase revenues, member retention and satisfaction. What's more, the TotalTrainer solution is turnkey, and is 100-percent hosted and supported by TotalTrainer, with no infrastructure to buy, and no costly software licenses, so it costs gyms virtually nothing to get started," he said.

"TotalTrainer makes best practices in training, nutrition, health and wellness accessible and affordable to the mass market through the channel that consumers are already using: gyms and health clubs," said Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO conferences. "As importantly, TotalTrainer balances the dual challenges of delivering highly custom programs and a highly scalable platform."

The first gym nationwide to participate in the TotalTrainer beta users program is San Diego Athletic Club (SDAC). Located in the heart of San Diego's financial district, the club caters to busy executives wanting to get the most from their health club membership.

"While TotalTrainer has been great in providing nutritional and fitness solutions to our members, it has also provided me with an outstanding new tool that allows me to open new doors in the competitive downtown San Diego fitness marketplace," said Jamie Meronoff, membership director at SDAC. "Our ability to offer this state-of-the-art software is one of the best things that has happened to SDAC in years, as it has tapped into a new stream of revenue previously unknown to our club."
