OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 25, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It was announced today that Rising India, Inc. (Pink Sheets:RSII), a publicly traded company, will come on board to co-finance the production and distribution of the advanced CG-animated feature, "Noah's Ark," with Unified Pictures. The announcement was jointly made by Rising India's CEO and President, Arthur Taylor, and Unified Pictures' Principal, Kurt Rauer.
Under the proposed terms of the deal, Rising India Inc. and Rising India (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. will be providing a funding package in excess of $40 million to be used for production and P&A.
The deal was structured and negotiated by Kurt Rauer on behalf of Unified Pictures who said, "We went into the marketplace with a deal structure which appropriately leverages our position in the film. It's a joy working with Rising India, they understand and embrace our structure and they share our goal of presenting the world a top notch feature film."
Commented Taylor, "'Noah's Ark' is a very commercial film that has a spectacular feel and undoubtedly showcases the genius of Philip LaZebnik. Provided all of these components, 'Noah's Ark' is very much representative of the films Rising India pursues."
The production will take place in Los Angeles and Singapore with key art and direction being based in the U.S. through Unified's own in-house animation division, ElectroAge. Unified Pictures is also handling worldwide sales of the film.
Written by Philip LaZebnik ("The Prince of Egypt," "Mulan" and "Pocahontas"), "Noah's Ark" tells the epochal Biblical account from the point of view of the animals' journey. Producers are now eyeing a Fall 2011 theatrical release date.
