AFFECTO PLC PRESS RELEASE 29.9.2009 at 10:15 Affecto provides the Academy of Finland with IT system services The Academy of Finland chose Affecto as its partner to carry out a new funding IT system to enhance operational processes, improve customer service and promote good governance. Affecto Finland Oy provides the Academy of Finland with a system, which combines and renews the contents and functionality of the current funding and online service systems as well as their maintenance. The funding information and online service system of the Academy of Finland handles almost 5,000 research funding applications each year. The process involves the drawing up and receiving of the applications, expert evaluations, preparing for funding decisions to be made and their implementation. In addition to this, the system is used for the management of changes, reports on the research made, and for follow-up and control. The development, commissioning and maintenance of the system are worth slightly over 1.7 million euros. The Academy of Finland will start using the new system by the year 2011.
