HOUSTON, Jan. 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Encore Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Encore Bancshares, Inc., (Nasdaq:EBTX), today announced the appointment of James R. Lykes as Senior Vice President, Manger, Private Banking and Scott Shackouls as Vice President, Private Banking at Encore Bank.

Lykes is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a BBA degree and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Baylor University. Jim and his wife, Kate, have four children.
Shackouls was most recently Assistant Vice President at Amegy Bank of Texas. He is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Financial Management and is active as a fundraiser for the Texas Children's Hospital Newborn Center.
