SAN DIEGO, Feb. 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Health and wellness leader American Specialty Health (ASH) announced that it has appointed Debi Heck Vice President, Health Management Strategies for its Healthyroads wellness subsidiary.
Heck assumes responsibility for the Healthyroads Wellness Consulting team and supports client employer groups, health plans, and brokers/consultants in their strategic development of personal health coaching, and wellness and prevention programs. Heck also works closely with the ASH executive team to develop ongoing strategies to advance the company's internal personal health coaching, health improvement, and prevention and wellness programs.
Heck brings to ASH and Healthyroads nearly 20 years of experience in the health care industry, focused entirely on wellness and prevention. Prior to joining ASH, she was assistant vice president in the health and benefits practice at Aon Consulting and also served as the company's national wellness practice lead. Heck began her career at HealthFirst (now Principal Wellness) and also worked in various leadership positions at Staywell, Interfit Health, and Health Media. She has also served as vice president of wellness for Matria Healthcare (now Alere), where she was instrumental in the sales and implementation phases for national clients.
Heck received a bachelor's degree in community health education from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in wellness management from Ball State University in Indiana.
