Pizza Inn Opens New Delivery & Carryout Restaurant in Houston

Former Franchisee Rejoins Company to Increase Success in the Local Marketplace

THE COLONY, Texas, March 8, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pizza Inn, Inc. (Nasdaq:PZZI), an international pizza chain recognized for serving a variety of fresh, high quality products at affordable prices, announces the opening of its newest restaurant at 16044 West Road in Houston.

With more than 20 restaurants currently open and operating in the Houston marketplace, the new restaurant is the third to open in the area in the last seven months and will offer a variety of traditional and specialty pizzas and other popular menu items in a delivery and carryout format.

"We are extremely pleased with our continued growth throughout the Houston marketplace and look forward to providing local consumers with the variety of high-quality menu items our guests have enjoyed for more than 50 years," said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Pizza Inn. "We are confident that the local residents are just as excited as we are about Pizza Inn's addition to Northwest Houston."

Generally located in retail centers, Pizza Inn's delivery and carryout concept targets customers on-the-go. While most carry a full menu, its design caters to the carry-out and delivery demands of today's busy families.

Shareya and Somya Business Inc. are the franchisees and owners of the new restaurant in Houston. Company President Sunny Sharma, who previously owned a buffet-style Pizza Inn restaurant in the area, hopes to open an additional two locations in the coming years.

"What truly makes Pizza Inn stand out is the quality of the food we offer at such great value prices," Sharma said. "I couldn't be more excited about rejoining the franchisee team and once again serving patrons everything they've come to love about Pizza Inn for the past five decades."

In an effort to further increase national and regional growth, Pizza Inn is seeking single and multi-unit franchisees, as well as area developers in select regions of the country. As a result, Pizza Inn recently launched a development incentive program to entice franchisees otherwise discouraged by the current credit market. The incentive program offers a 50 percent reduction in the initial Franchise Fee from $25,000 to only $12,500, and a 50 percent reduction in royalties (from four percent to two percent) during the first two years of operation. This incentive applies to new construction of U.S. buffet restaurants only.
