TIE Technologies Appoints New Members to Its Scientific and Technology Advisory Committee


NEW YORK, June 17, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TIE Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:TTCS), an information technology, smart logistics, and telemetrics company, today announced the newest members of its Science and Technical Advisory Committee - Dr. Alex Philp and Stanley Newton.

TIE Technologies Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee provides scientific and technical guidance on current projects, reviewing the criteria and standards promulgated, and providing other related scientific and technical advice.  The Committee provides an independent and impartial forum for vetting new technical issues and opportunities, as members of the committee share their vast expertise and knowledge base to identify new technologies and support TIE Technologies' growth.

Alex Philp, Ph.D., is a recognized expert in the field of geographical information systems (GIS).  He is the president and CEO of both GCS Research and TerraEchos, Inc.  Dr. Philp is a member of the Montana Governors' Land Information Council, develops policy recommendations to the Governor's office on the effective utilization of GIS technology, and is a Governor's liaison with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Idaho National Laboratory.  He works closely with Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Intelligence Community through the DOE - specifically on critical infrastructure protection and chemical, biological, and radiological counterintelligence.  In addition, Dr. Philp has also served on the State of Montana's Homeland Security GIS Subcommittee, and the Science and Technology Subcommittee following September 11th.

Stanley Newton, is an experienced control systems engineer and a nuclear power propulsion engineer.  He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, class of 1985.  His naval career included nuclear power training and subsequent qualification as a nuclear power propulsion engineer, as well as service on the USS Bluefish (SSN 675).  He also served as the Navy's Southwest nuclear programs recruiting director.  Upon completion of active duty for the U.S. Navy, he entered the Dallas Theological Seminary, obtaining his Masters of Theology - Old Testament, in 1996.  He is currently ministering in Houston, Texas.
