LANCASTER, NY--(Marketwire - August 19, 2010) - The Board of Directors of Ecology and Environment, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEI) has authorized the Company to purchase on the open market up to 200,000 shares of its Class A common stock to be held as treasury stock. Purchases will be made at prices and at times in public or private transactions, at the discretion of the Company. The Board, in taking this action, noted the price of the shares compared to the Company's book value per share and the desire to provide shares for employee incentive programs. The Company had 2,685,000 Class A shares outstanding at July 31, 2010.
