The business concept Solar 8000 has now been implemented in Solar Norge AS as
planned. The first phase includes the implementation of a SAP IT platform in
combination with our existing e-business and warehouse management system.
After comprehensive training and a long line of thorough and satisfactory
tests, it was decided to let the Norwegian subsidiary switch to the new IT
system as of today. A more detailed status will follow after the balancing of
the monthly accounts for September. Therefore, more information about Solar
8000 will be published in mid-October.
In autumn 2008, the Solar Group decided to establish a new business concept,
which was named Solar 8000 at start-up in spring 2009. This concept is to make
the group's business processes more efficient and create an even better link
between and overview of the subsidiaries and corporate headquarters.
Solar 8000 includes the establishment of
• group-standardised business processes supported by the IT system SAP
• the same IT platform in all enterprises
• one frame of reference within management
• harmonised data and common group databases
As previously announced, this investment is expected to total up to € 40m in
the first phase distributed over three years.
