SRI Surgical Awarded an Agreement for Surgical Instrument Tray Reprocessing / Sterilization Services With Premier

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SRI/Surgical Express, Inc. (SRI) (Nasdaq:STRC), a leading provider of reusable surgical products and reprocessing services supporting the healthcare industry, today announced it was awarded an agreement for Surgical Instrument Tray Reprocessing / Sterilization Services with Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., the group purchasing unit of the Premier healthcare alliance. This is the second consecutive contract in this product category between SRI Surgical and Premier, a leading healthcare network.

Gerald Woodard, CEO of SRI Surgical commented, "The instrument segment of our business is a critical offering to many hospitals. Whether we are on-site assisting the hospital in their Central Sterile Department or servicing the hospital by providing instrument trays and off-site reprocessing, this offering insures the OR has instrument sets that are complete and ready for each day's cases. We also offer an 'On Demand' program that can immediately alleviate the excessive burden on the Central Processing Department regardless of whether the issue is volume fluctuation or the result of a catastrophic event."

Premier serves more than 2,400 U.S. hospitals and 70,000 other healthcare sites.  The three-year Agreement begins January 1, 2011.

SRI Surgical's Instrument Program provides hospitals the ability to ensure that they have the adequate number of instrument sets required for their OR caseload, that no capital upfront purchase is necessary to obtain these instrument sets, and that the instrument tray reprocessing and sterilization is provided by a company with a proven track record of quality service and customer satisfaction.
