Zenith Technologies' Advanced E-Learning Solution Brings New Levels of Production and Personnel Efficiencies to Complex Manufacturing Operations

CORK, IRELAND and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 28, 2010) -  Zenith Technologies [Zenith], an Ireland-based global leader in automation, process control and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to the life sciences and other industries, today launched its advanced e-learning solution in the U.S. Designed to train technical personnel at operations facilities in any global location, Zenith's offering is highly customized for specific manufacturing environments. Marking a major shift from generic online training approaches, the intuitive and interactive instruction model is optimized to deliver customized, accessible technical training for immediate practical application at a lower cost. The solution gives facility managers a powerful new training tool to maximize production and personnel efficiencies while reducing manufacturing risks that could adversely affect quality and yields.

Since 2006, Zenith's presence in the U.S. market has grown steadily. This year, the expansion pace accelerated when the company established a hub in Framingham, MA to serve clients in the life sciences sector. The Framingham location augmented existing offices in Philadelphia and North Carolina. Today, Zenith's newest U.S. office was opened on the West Coast.

The announcements were made during a visit to the company's Framingham office yesterday by Ireland's Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Mr. Batt O'Keeffe. The visit was organized by Enterprise Ireland, the government organization responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in international markets.

Three of the world's top ten pharmaceutical companies are already using Zenith's e-learning solution at manufacturing sites in the U.S. and Europe. Early feedback confirms that the customized solution far out-ranks competitive online training models for efficiency, relevance and value. Whether it's to acquire special competence on a new process or to refresh skills on older equipment, Zenith's solution enables onsite training at any time -- a particular advantage during slow periods, or when equipment is down for maintenance and repair. In addition, the training develops the individual's troubleshooting ability and skills which can increase production uptime and minimize safety risks.

"Customers regard our e-learning solution as a significant advancement in facility operations training and a practical way for employees to consistently operate at peak skill levels," said Brendan O'Regan, Zenith's Founder and CEO. "In particular, they're impressed by the model's flexibility, relevance and ease of use, along with its compelling cost advantages. Unlike conventional e-learning solutions, all interactions with our training system are captured and scored using our SCORM-compliant embedded learning management system. This feature enables customers to better manage and demonstrate compliance in their training efforts. And it means that for the first time, they have a robust method to benchmark training effectiveness which enables informed decisions on which employees to deploy where in mission-critical facilities."

The new e-learning solution rounds out Zenith's comprehensive portfolio of services. Since 1998, the company and its team of 300-plus have worked closely with customers at "Greenfield" and "Brownfield" sites worldwide. Here, they design and implement process automation solutions that are optimized for customer-specific manufacturing environments. Now, the architects of the MES systems are extending their expertise beyond the production lines and into virtual classrooms, empowering facilities personnel with state-of-the-art technical training to improve performance.

O'Regan concluded, "We're pleased to be rolling out our e-learning offering in the U.S. Many of the country's life sciences giants are already relying on Zenith's expertise to maximize efficiencies at their European facilities. It makes good business sense to provide our full complement of services to their U.S. facilities. Our recently opened Framingham office and our new location on the West Coast place us in a thriving concentration of life sciences companies. We're already ramping up quickly in both regions."
