Rex Jackson Joins JDSU as Senior Vice President, Business Services

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - January 10, 2011) - JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) and (TSX: JDU) today announced that Rex Jackson has joined its executive management team as senior vice president, business services. Jackson reports to President and CEO Tom Waechter and leads JDSU's corporate and business development, corporate marketing, legal and information technology organizations.

JDSU also named Andrew Pollack as general counsel. Pollack has been leading JDSU's legal team on an interim basis since July. He has served as a member of JDSU's legal department since 2000.

Jackson has a successful track record as a strategic planning executive and leader of business-enabling corporate functions. He joins JDSU from Symyx Technologies where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer with responsibility for finance, legal, IT and other corporate functions, and drove the company's acquisition of MDL Information Systems, Inc. and recent merger with Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL). Previously, Jackson served as senior vice president and general counsel for Avago Technologies, and held senior executive positions with Synopsys, Inc., AdForce, Inc. and Read-Rite Corporation.
