Narragansett Bay Insurance Company (NBIC) Implements BlueWave Technology's PipelineClaims

HONOLULU, HI and PAWTUCKET, RI--(Marketwire - January 20, 2011) - BlueWave Technology announced today Narragansett Bay Insurance Company (NBIC) has completed the second and final phase in the company's implementation of BlueWave Technology's PipelineClaims 4.2 software application. PipelineClaims 4.2 comprises one of the core solutions in NBIC's Project APEX technology modernization initiative.

"Our partners and clients are now receiving the best web-based, self-service and integrated insurance processing platform available," said Mike Anselmo, Chief Information Officer for NBIC, recently selected as a Tech Decisions Insurance IT All-Star. "The BlueWave team has been exceptional to work with, and PipelineClaims has provided NBIC with the cutting-edge technology we need to meet our company goals."

Embarking on Project APEX in 2009, NBIC sought to modernize their in-house legacy systems, establishing highly-advanced, flexible and nimble technology environments that would allow them to deliver exceptional customer service. After deciding upon a best-of-breed approach for this project, BlueWave's PipelineClaims was chosen to help consolidate IT processes and create a more fluid, configurable claim workflow. Since the initial implementation in August 2010, BlueWave and NBIC have worked together to implement the full integration of PipelineClaims with NBIC's other core solutions. Today marks the successful and on-time completion of the second and final phase of implementation.

"PipelineClaims offers state-of-the-art claims management designed to augment and facilitate world class service to our customers and agents," said Bob Khosropur, Chief Claims Officer for NBIC. "Training new users has been a breeze, though don't be fooled, the system is sophisticated enough to allow for smart business decisions through business rules and workflows."

The full implementation of BlueWave Technology's PipelineClaims connects the various policy, document management, FNOL intake service and financial systems used by NBIC into a comprehensive whole that allows the entire solution to function much more flexibly, much more intuitively. The overall training time reduction and cost savings allowed by PipelineClaims are expected to be dramatic, speeding claims processing and reducing IT expenditures.

"It has been a pleasure being a part of NBIC's Apex project," Riki Fujitani, President of BlueWave Technology. "Although an ambitious project at first, it has proven to be a model implementation. Mike Anselmo's vision has led the company through this massive undertaking and Bob Khosropur's strategic leadership has made the transition as smooth as possible. I congratulate them both for a job well done."
