Atria Scandinavia is launching an extensive efficiency improvement programme aimed at streamlining and automating the production process of black pudding. Atria is investing approximately EUR 2.2 million in new production equipment for the Tranås plant. At the same time, the production of black pudding is to be transferred from the Saltsjö-Boo plant in Stockholm to Tranås. Significant synergy benefits will be achieved from moving the production to Tranås.
The black pudding products manufactured by Atria Scandinavia under the GEA’S brand have a market share of approximately 80% in Sweden and it is the market leader in its product group.
The efficiency improvement programme is expected to generate annual cost savings of approximately one million euros.
Negotiations with labour market organisations have been initiated.
