Linley Tech Carrier Conference Examines System Design Issues for Wired and Wireless Infrastructure

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2011) - The Linley Group today announced the Linley Tech Carrier Conference will take place on June 7-8, 2011, at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, Calif. The two-day, single-track event will cover carrier-equipment design for both wired and wireless infrastructure, and include talks by leading chip vendors in the areas of multicore processors, network processors, wireless-baseband processors, FPGAs, and optical-transport devices.

"The 4G rollout impacts all aspects of wireless infrastructure, from LTE base stations to Ethernet/IP backhaul," said Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at The Linley Group. "Meanwhile, next-generation broadband technologies are pushing data rates to 10Gbps, placing huge demands on aggregation and transport networks. Conference attendees will hear about the newest technologies and silicon addressing the challenges in carrier-equipment design created by these trends."

According to The Linley Group, as service providers roll out next-generation wired and wireless networks, Carrier-equipment vendors face intense price and performance pressures from their customers. The Linley Tech Carrier Conference explores how OEMs can best capitalize on the wire array of chips that vendors are bringing to market to scale network performance while reducing development and manufacturing costs.

Presenting companies include AppliedMicro, Cavium, Freescale, NetLogic Microsystems, EZchip, Netronome, LSI, Xilinx, Altera, 6WIND, BroadLight, MoSys, Texas Instruments, Centec Networks, and Mindspeed Technologies. Presentation highlights include EZChip's first public disclosure of the NP-5 details, its next-generation high speed NPU.

There will also be a reception with sponsor exhibits and demonstrations where attendees will have an opportunity to see and discuss specific products and technology.

The Linley Group offers free attendance to qualified registrants who sign up by June 1. For more information on the conference program and to register, please visit http://www.linleygroup.com/events/event.php?num=9
