Designed to meet the needs of all groups, Petango Petmatch uses an algorithm that matches an adopter's preferences with a pet's personality traits. A pet's personality traits or behavior type are identified at individual shelters, and then recorded in an animal management system called PetPoint. If, based on their answers to the Petmatch questionnaire, an adopter is looking for a dog that is social, fully-trained, and good with kids, the matching algorithm will present dogs that possess these specific characteristics.

Launched in 2005, PetPoint is a cloud-based animal management system allowing licensed organizations to effectively and efficiently log animal intakes and outcomes including behavioral traits, in addition to coordinate transfers, run detailed, scheduled reports, and manage humane investigations.
