ifm electronic Invests in the Asian Market

ESSEN/TETTNANG, GERMANY--(Marketwire - Oct 14, 2011) - On 12 October 2011 ifm electronic gmbh opened its first production and development centre in Singapore.

Production had already started: On 12 October 2011 ifm electronic gmbh officially opened its first production and development site in Asia. According to the company slogan "ifm electronic -- close to you" the family-run company sets new standards in the Asian market, with its production and development facility in Singapore.

ifm has created a modern production and development facility in Singapore in no time at all. Quality, sustainability and innovation -- the new production meets the ifm concept of success in every respect. Fully in line with the company philosophy, the management is in the hands of locals. Existing ifm products, along with new ranges specially tailored to the requirements of Asian customers, are to be developed and produced in Singapore. In the medium term, hundreds of jobs will be created here. Thanks to the highly qualified engineers and specialist workers, Singapore provides ifm with the perfect environment for recruiting the right staff.

ifm started to operate in the Asian economic region as early as 1976 and supplied the market through eight branch offices and 21 sales offices with products developed and manufactured in Germany. ifm has been present in Singapore since 2001 with a sales and service site. "With the new location in Singapore we will continue to significantly extent our market position in the rapidly growing Asian market," concludes Kent Karlsson, project leader for the development of the new production and development centre.
