IT - INET Production - Native FIX available in INET Production Environment from October 31st (169/11)


As earlier communicated, NASDAQ OMX will introduce Native FIX connectivity for order entry and associated drop copies. The new Native FIX connectivity is available in OTF since October 3rd, and will be available in Production from October 31st. The transition to the Native FIX ports is mandatory and must be completed by all members in June 2012.

The main benefits with Native FIX are:

  • Lower latency
  • FIX standard failover
  • Port level configuration possibilities (e.g. “Fat-finger” price deviation control on individual Native FIX order entry ports)

Note: Future functional enhancements will only be available in Native FIX.

 

Nordic Workstation migration

Nasdaq OMX will offer a member by member transition for the Nordic Workstation accounts from November 1st, 2011. From the point a member decides to move his Nordic Workstation flow via the new Native solution, orders/trades will only be available via the new Native FIX Drop ports for all Nordic Workstation users within the member firm. It is recommended that the same date is set for transition for order entry, drops and Nordic Workstation.

 

Important notice regarding GTC orders

All GTC orders (Good-Till-Cancelled orders) entered via GPC-FIX MUST be cancelled prior to transition to Native FIX.

If not cancelled:

  • GTC orders entered via GPC-FIX will not be visible in new Native FIX solution, only via the public market data feed. This means that they are not manageable via the new solution, but they can still be executed.
  • GTC orders entered via GPC-FIX will still be visible in Nordic Workstation. However, no order modification is possible, only cancellation.

2011-10-03 FIX and FIX Drop ports available in OTF

2011-10-17 Nordic Workstation transition available in OTF

2011-10-31 FIX order entry and FIX Drop ports available in INET Production

2011-11-01 Nordic Workstation migration available in INET Production

2012-06-18 Transition period ends = all members must have completed their transition

 

NOTE: Each member has to request for and agree with Member Services on date for transition.
