Thrane & Thrane's AVIATOR 700 receives Falcon STC

Latest STC ensures availability of cockpit and cabin communications services for 2000 and 2000EX aircraft

Thrane & Thrane’s cutting-edge AVIATOR 700 SATCOM solution has recently received an aftermarket Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its use aboard Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft. Completed by Thrane & Thrane partner Duncan Aviation, the STC includes the installation and activation of its built-in Wi-Fi option which will offer users access to an extensive range of communications capabilities, providing access to the system’s SwiftBroadband services including the high quality, low-cost voice service and the full complement data services which Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband has to offer.

Providing both Classic and SwiftBroadband services in one complete package, Thrane & Thrane’s AVIATOR 700 is the ultimate solution for both cabin and cockpit communications. Andy Beers, Director of Aeronautical Sales Americas, Thrane & Thrane, comments: “We are delighted to report the latest STC for the AVIATOR 700 which will offer a significant upgrade in communications capabilities for Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft. With the AVIATOR 700 aboard, passengers are able to benefit from global high-speed wireless internet connectivity the minute they walk on board, enabling them to use smart phones, personal tablets and laptops for a multitude of applications during flight.

“With the system’s built-in PBX and built-in Wi-Fi, passengers have access to a comprehensive suite of voice communications via the two available Aero H+ voice channels and the low-cost, high-quality SwiftBroadband voice service. On the flight deck, AVIATOR 700 provides the flight crew a dedicated cockpit data channel for ACARS/SATAFIS and access to AeroH+ voice channels for voice calls, whether from dedicated handsets or dialling directly from the cockpit MCDU’s.”

The certification was completed under Duncan Aviation’s STC and Major Repair and Alterations (MRA) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).  Duncan Aviation is an industry leader in aircraft Wi-Fi equipment installations and holds STCs for in-flight Wi-Fi operation in a wide variety of business aircraft models, including the Hawker 800XP / 850XP, and 900XP, the Falcon 2000, 2000EX, 2000EX EASy and 900EX EASy, the Cessna 680, the Challenger 300 and the Citation 750.
