Two Charlottesville Inns Proclaimed "Best Romantic" and "Cozziest"

Foxfield Inn and The Clifton Inn Recognized by Fathom, I Love Inns, and Southern Living Magazine

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Feb. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Charlottesville and Albemarle County receive accolades and recognitions on a regular basis. Local businesses also receive top honors and the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to announce that two local lodging partners have recently been awarded the title of "Best Romantic Inns".

Foxfield Inn and The Clifton Inn (both located in Albemarle County) have made the independent online national travel hub Fathom's list of "Most romantic hotels in the south". Fathom noted Foxfield Inn's "Super private (hotel), fireplaces in every room, excellent homey breakfast and lovely owners." They also remarked that "Clifton's Shaker Suites are like your own lakeside cottage and the food is out of this world".

The prestigious organization, I Love Inns, a national bed & breakfast directory, also chose Foxfield Inn as part of its very select 19th Annual Top 10 Romantic Inns list. As indicated by this organization, "These Top 10 Romantic Inns provide landmark locations, landscapes for lingering, lavish accommodations, luxurious settings and legendary hospitality."

Along the same lines of romance and coziness, Southern Living magazine's readers chose The Clifton Inn as one of the South's Coziest Inns. "With Charlottesville's restaurant scene just 6 miles west and Shenandoah National Park about an hour away, guests have endless options for curling up, digging in, or stretching their legs," says Paula Disbrowe from Southern Living.

"We want to congratulate Foxfield Inn and The Clifton Inn for their contribution to the tourism industry. These venues are well deserving of such honors," said Kurt Burkhart, Executive Director for the CACVB.

Visitors to the greater Charlottesville area have a multitude of high quality lodging options from which to choose. Whether they are looking for an intimate bed & breakfast, historic inn, or chain hotel, guests will experience our area's warm hospitality and encounter passionate lodging staff offering personalized service. Charlottesville and Albemarle County offer a total of over 3,000 hotel rooms in nearly 50 establishments.
