(Nasdaq:DAVE) has responded to the increase in demand from guests for more seafood offerings during the months of February and March by offering Beer-Battered Cod and All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fridays (February 20 – April 8, 2012 at participating locations).
"Famous Dave's values guest feedback and we received an excellent response last year when we tested cod as a seasonal offering for a limited time. That feedback, coupled with industry statistics that February and March are the largest seafood consumption times of the year, led us to create an even larger seafood offering this year," said Aric Nissen, Vice President of Marketing at Famous Dave's. "This year our offerings at participating restaurants include tender fillets of cod with a crispy cornmeal batter, made with Sam Adams Boston Lager, available as an entrée platter, a sandwich, and even as a Beer-Battered Cod Fingers appetizer. In the tradition of popular Friday night Fish Fry events, we are offering guests an "All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fryday" menu choice at participating locations, featuring our Beer-Battered Cod. We also have lighter seafood items on the Citrus Grill menu which includes shrimp and salmon under 600 calories."
In other news, Famous Dave's recently introduced the Round It Up America program in 54 corporate-owned restaurants, to help feed the hungry and protect the welfare of families in communities across the nation. Guests may donate by rounding up their credit card bill to the next dollar (or more). The recipients of the funds are local food banks in the communities which Famous Dave's serves. Famous Dave's may soon expand this program to more locations.
