ActiveState, Appsembler Announce Stackato Service Integration

Appsembler to Leverage Stackato Private PaaS Technology for Hosted Service, Offer Preview at PyCon 2012

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - Mar 7, 2012) - ActiveState, whose software enables developers and enterprises to innovate from code to cloud, announced today that Appsembler has integrated ActiveState's Stackato application platform technology into its namesake hosted-service offering for Web applications in the cloud.

Stackato -- now generally available -- is the application platform for creating a private platform-as-a-service (PaaS) using any language on any stack on any cloud. From the desktop to the datacenter, Stackato makes it easy to develop, deploy, migrate, scale, manage and monitor applications on any cloud.

Appsembler is the fastest way to sell hosted web apps. Appsembler helps developers sell web applications as a hosted on-demand service with all billing, payment processing, hosting, and customer-engagement hooks seamlessly and securely integrated.

"We decided in January 2012 to create Appsembler," says CEO Nate Aune. "With Stackato, we're ready to launch in March. That's three months from concept to productization... Out of the box with Stackato, we were able to immediately offer one-click deployment environments for Django, Pylons, Pyramid, Bottle, Flask, and other Python frameworks."

"Appsembler's hosted service is a great technology fit for Stackato," notes Bart Copeland, CEO of ActiveState. "It showcases Stackato, and how it enables developers to move from code to cloud to revenue generation, simply, safely, and quickly."

Appsembler and ActiveState will provide a sneak preview of the Appsembler service using the Stackato platform at the PyCon 2012 conference in Santa Clara, Calif. You can see Appsembler and Stackato in action at the ActiveState booth (#211) March 9-11.

"The Appsembler integration is only just the beginning for Stackato," adds ActiveState's Copeland. "We continue to innovate and we continue to see great customer adoption. We look forward to building on that success to strengthen Stackato's technology leadership position in private PaaS."
