New Offices Near Baltimore Allow for Expanded Support of Social Security Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

BALTIMORE, May 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today it has opened a new facility in the Baltimore area to support the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The new offices allow the company to expand its support to both agencies, and to upgrade and enhance their Information Technology (IT) services to assist in their mission to serve the American public.

"We're opening our new Baltimore facility, located in close proximity to both SSA and CMS headquarters, to expand our support to these critical agencies," said James M. Myers, vice president and general manager, Civil Systems Division, Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector. "I am proud of the work our employees are doing in service to the SSA and CMS, federal agencies that touch the lives of every citizen."

Northrop Grumman was awarded part of the SSA's $2.8 billion ITSSC (Information Technology Support Services Contract) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract in 2010 to provide IT solutions to the SSA for improved service delivery to stakeholders through IT and business process improvements.

"Our new facility is a commitment by the company to SSA and CMS's home base in the Woodlawn area, and will bring new jobs and economic growth to the area," said Amy Caro, vice president for Health IT, Northrop Grumman Information Systems. "We hope to expand our current support of both agencies through continuing technological improvements and leveraging Northrop Grumman's unique IT capabilities. We have approximately 600 people in the area supporting these customers and we expect this support to expand, along with our other health IT programs, in the coming contract years."

The new Northrop Grumman facility, located in Windsor Mill, Md., will house employees from across Northrop Grumman's Health IT Division, which serves federal programs such as SSA and CMS.
