Root Selected a Winner in the 33rd Annual Telly Awards

SYLVANIA, OH--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2012) - Root, the strategy execution company, today announced it has received Telly Awards for three of its film solutions in the 33rd Annual Telly Awards, competing with nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

Among the solutions recognized:

Root's Cinematic Storytelling team tapped into the company's imaginative environment to create the three award-winning films. The first piece, Scheduler Squabble, was created as a result of an internal discussion on which project planning tool was the best. The result was a video depicting the "squabble" and was later used as an internal presentation.

The Root Holiday Claymation piece was created for the internal Root Holiday Party and was used also used as a New Year's card for clients. The other honored video was for Hilton, created as an informational piece in short documentary style about the Conrad Award-winning Hilton Orlando. The piece was created to showcase the work Root has delivered for the hotel, highlighting how leadership can positively affect the culture of an organization and how that culture can drive success. It was shown at the 2011 Hampton General Manager Conference.

"At Root, our goal is to help companies drive strategic change through the power of their people. Cinematic Storytelling plays a significant role in helping people make that emotional connection between their job and how they impact the business," said Jim Haudan, CEO, Root. "The creativity and dedication of our team is shown in the work of these award-winning videos. We are proud of our team and honored to be a recipient of the prestigious Telly awards."

About The Telly Awards
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

For its 33rd season, the Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People's Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel who selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People's Telly Awards winners.

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of the Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Entries do not compete against each other, but are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor. Approximately 25% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.

"The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. "Root's accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production."
