Jack Landskroner to Lead Public Justice Foundation

Ohio Attorney Elected National President

CLEVELAND, Aug. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jack Landskroner, managing partner of Cleveland's Landskroner Grieco Merriman ("Team LGM") was elected national President of the Public Justice Foundation at the organization's annual meeting on July 29 in Chicago.

Landskroner is a nationally-recognized child and consumer advocate who has battled injustice in courtrooms throughout the United States. "This is a tremendous responsibility," said Landskroner, "The Public Justice Foundation is a public interest organization that fights every day to keep our courts open to everybody.  Not just the rich and powerful. We advocate against injustice."

In his everyday law practice, Landskroner represents victims of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, consumer scams, and insurance bad faith.

Team LGM also advocates for the rights of small businesses and investors. Landskroner is a board certified trial advocate and has repeatedly been honored as a "Super Lawyer" and a "Top-Rated Lawyer" by his peers.

In 1998, Landskroner created the Landskroner Foundation for Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the rights and interests of children. The Foundation supports local shelters, provides free lead detection kits and gun locks to families with children as well as advocating to ensure positive and safe developmental environments for kids.

As President of the Public Justice Foundation, Landskroner will direct the 3,000-member organization's nationwide efforts to secure court access for ordinary people and justice in civil rights and civil liberties, environmental protection, consumers' rights, food health and safety, and workers' rights cases with widespread impact.

"Public Justice is a critical force for justice in America," said Landskroner.  "We fight for the rights of ordinary people who have been bullied by powerful corporate interests."

One of Landskroner's first acts as president will be to bring Public Justice's Fall meeting to Ohio. "While the national political spotlight is on Ohio, the decisions coming out of our courts are just as critical to the future of our country. It will be great to have some of the best and brightest legal minds in the country here in Cleveland to meet and discuss protecting the public interest," said Landskroner.

Jack and his wife, Heather, have four children.
