Additionally, as the company continues to experience extraordinary growth, Boyle has assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on an interim basis.

"Having known John for over two decades, I've witnessed firsthand his numerous successes as an executive and entrepreneur in music, live events and entertainment. As the company continues to grow at an exceptionally rapid pace, we will undoubtedly benefit from his wealth of experience building brands, growing businesses and leading companies. John's reputation as a creative leader makes him an exciting new addition to the Insomniac team," said Rotella.

"Since our paths first crossed almost 20 years ago, I have watched Pasquale build Insomniac into the most exciting and respected electronic dance music brand on the planet. I am beyond thrilled and honored that Pasquale has entrusted me to lead Insomniac into new businesses and opening new markets," said Boyle.

Boyle began his music career while a UCLA undergrad as drummer and manager of LA rock band TomFoolery. Realizing that he was a better in business than with drum sticks, he launched Extreme Consulting, a music marketing and special events production company whose clients included the ESPN X-Games, US Open of Surfing, MAGIC (fashion trade expo) and Bear Mountain Ski Resort, and produced concerts featuring No Doubt, Foo Fighters, Sublime, Run DMC and many others.

In 1995, Boyle helped launch the Vans Warped Tour, overseeing marketing in its first two years.  For 12 years, he owned and produced the SnoCore Tour whose touring acts included Black Eyed Peas, Sublime, Incubus, Blink 182, System of a Down and many others.

In 1996 Boyle co-produced the legendary EDM event Organic (Orb, The Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Underworld, Meat Beat Manifesto) and Perry Farrell's ENIT at Snow Valley Ski Resort in Big Bear, CA.

Boyle spent years as a major label A&R and marketing executive with stints at Irving Azoff's Giant Records, Virgin Records and Warner Bros. Records.  Boyle began managing acts in 2000, signing then unknown Alien Ant Farm who he took double platinum on their debut album.  He also managed multi-platinum rapper Xzibit, launching his film and TV career as star of MTV's Pimp My Ride, and Bay Area underground hip-hop icons Blackalicious.  As a manager, Boyle spent two years at Sanctuary Music Group (a publicly held British music company) before forming The BAM Group, a boutique management company that represented musicians, actors, models and action sports athletes.

In 2007, Boyle sold the SnoCore Tour and enrolled in the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program. While there, he co-founded and co-produced the Berkeley-Stanford Cleantech Conference, now one of the premier cleantech conferences in the country. Since completing business school in early 2009, Boyle has served as an executive consultant to Silicon Valley venture capital firm Selby Ventures (early investor in Pandora) as well as investor-backed music-tech startups StageIt and CredFM.  He was also President of investor-backed start-up Hello Music.

Earlier this year, Boyle served as Executive Producer of Insomniac's highly successful, inaugural EDMbiz Conference.

Boyle has a dual MBA from Columbia Business School and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a BA in Economics from UCLA. Boyle currently sits on the advisory boards of numerous start-ups and is also an investor and board member of apparel brand and female DJ duo Posso.

Recently Insomniac has added to their team of leading industry professionals. Earlier in 2012, Simon Lamb joined Insomniac's executive team as Chief Operating Officer. In 2011, Erika Raney joined Insomniac as Director of Communications & CSR Initiatives and Carlos Correal came on board as Head Talent Buyer.
