Central Animal Hospital in Saskatoon Announces New Pet Service Website

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan, Sept. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veterinarian Dr. Brian Gibbs announced that Central Animal Hospital has launched a new website to further communication with pet owners. The new website, http://centralah.ca/, features a Veterinary Topics Library, pet selector, and blog. In an effort to improve customer service, the vet clinic said they now offer an online prescription refill form.

Central Animal Hospital has launched a new website designed to serve pet owners. The newly designed site, http://centralah.ca, features an easy-to-use interface and informative articles on pet service and wellness care.

"As a veterinarian, I see first-hand the difference that informed, educated pet owners can make for their pet's long-term health," said Dr. Gibbs. "Proactive wellness care is essential to keeping pets healthy for life. That's why our new website is designed to empower pet owners by giving them the resources and tools to provide quality at-home care, recognize the warning signs of illness, and protect their pets' health."

The new website features the 'Veterinary Topics' library, a resource center with information on Saskatoon pet services and at-home care tips. Pet owners can learn more about introducing a new pet into their home, obedience and training tips, as well as at-home grooming, nutrition, and seasonal care.

The website also includes a checklist for recognizing the warning signs of illness, as well as tips from the veterinarian for managing health conditions such as arthritis.

"Our veterinary care team may see a healthy pet only once or twice a year for an annual check-up and dental cleaning," said Dr. Gibbs. "That's why it is so important that pet owners take an active role in recognizing warning signs of illness. With their help, we can detect potential health problems early. This is just one way our new website complements our practice's mission to empower pet owners."

Pet owners can also learn more pet care tips by visiting the website's blog. The animal hospital often updates the blog with posts on pet dental tips to annual pet vaccination reminders.

In addition to providing educational resources for pet owners, the website is also designed to simplify the process for requesting medication refills. The site now features an online prescription refill request form as well as making email communication easier.

"Our new online request forms allow pet owners to request a prescription refill at their convenience, any time of the day or night," said Dr. Gibbs. "We will even call it into the pharmacy of choice."

Central Animal Hospital is part of the Animal Care Group of Saskatoon. The pet hospital provides wellness, emergency, and surgical care for companion animals, including spay and neuters. Additionally, Dr. Gibbs provides orthopedic surgery, including the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) technique for repairing ruptured cruciate ligaments.
