Who is AASHE?

AASHE is committed to advancing sustainability within higher education college and university campuses by serving as an acknowledged thought leader that provides invaluable resources to engaged, diverse communities. AASHE provides administrators, faculty, staff and students, including the businesses that serve them, with: thought leadership and essential knowledge resources; outstanding opportunities for professional development; and a unique framework for demonstrating the value and competitive edge created by sustainability initiatives.

What is Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS)?

In early 2010, AASHE launched STARS or the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System which provides education institutions with a standardized assessment tool to measure their campus' sustainability performance. Institutions can benchmark their sustainability progress over time and compare with other institutions since reporting is made public. Participants qualify for different levels of recognition based on level of accomplishment.

Chartwells is proud to share our green initiatives and learn about sustainable practices as they relate to foodservice operations that contribute to a greener campus, community and academic learning environment for students today.
