FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) employee Napoleon Pinos was honored over the weekend by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), receiving the organization's Hispanic in Technology Award-Corporate. The award was presented at SHPE's annual conference held Nov. 14-18 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Hispanic in Technology Award-Corporate is presented to notable Hispanic engineers or scientists who have made outstanding contributions to their field through their leadership of a major technical project or by their continuous contributions to the field of engineering. Pinos was recognized for his leadership in the Hispanic community, mentorship of younger engineers and support of the academic and career achievement of others.

Pinos is the program manager for worldwide post-production support for the company's contracts in air defense and air traffic control radar. He is responsible for spares, repairs, maintenance training and product refurbishment conducted to affordably extend the life of deployed products. Pinos earned a bachelor's degree in systems science engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master's degree from Pepperdine University.
