IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Avinor, a state -owned limited company that operates most of the civil airports in Norway, has chosen IFS Applications™ 8 to consolidate and streamline its business processes. The contract includes licenses and services worth NKr 11.5 million. Avinor needed a central ERP solution to manage and control its varied business processes over a network of 46 airports all over Norway. After a public procurement and evaluation process, Avinor selected IFS Applications to replace Oracle Financials. IFS Applications is already deployed as the central ERP system at Avinor-owned Oslo Airport, the main airport in Norway, which will become an integrated part of the new implementation. The IFS solution includes functionality to support processes within financials, business analysis, e-invoicing, procurement, project management, and time reporting. The solution also offers user interfaces integrated with web-based public procurement portals. IFS Applications will be used by approximately 3,000 Avinor employees working at airports all over the country. “Our main objective is to streamline our business-critical processes with one central ERP solution,” said Helge Clem, Vice president, Corporate Business Support and Shared Services, Avinor. “IFS presented us with a comprehensive and scalable solution that best corresponded to our requirements. By consolidating key processes such as financials and procurement on a single platform, we will maximize the efficiency and transparency of our operations while minimizing the total cost of ownership.” “We are very pleased to welcome Avinor as a customer and we look forward to a long and productive business relationship,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “With IFS Applications 8 as its central platform, Avinor will benefit from leaner business processes and enhanced control throughout its multi-site organization.” The implementation will start in January, 2013 and is expected to be completed in January, 2014.
