ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On December 20th, the commercial real estate that is home to the iconic Arlington pizza and sub restaurant, Mario's Pizza House, and the popular ice cream shop, Carvel's, was sold at auction for $2.86 million. The transaction closed one week later to an undisclosed buyer.
With the sale of 3322 Wilson Blvd, Alan Levine of Mario's Land Corporation, a longtime Arlington resident along with the auction company, AmeriBid LLC, and its listing broker partner, Access Realty, achieved one of the highest price per square foot sales in Arlington. With the restaurant sitting on a 16,080 square foot parcel, this commercial auction sale pushed the hot Arlington market to $177 per square foot.

Mario's Pizza and its co-tenant, Carvel's Ice Cream, will continue to operate as normal. The auction sale was of the real estate only, not the businesses.
