Concurrent Technologies Corporation Receives "Flag of Freedom" Award for Commitment to Hiring Missouri Veterans

FORT LEONARD WOOD, MO., Jan. 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is proud to announce that the company has received the prestigious "Flag of Freedom" award. The award, which is part of Missouri Governor Jay Nixon's "Show-Me Heroes" initiative, is in recognition of CTC's commitment to hiring military veterans.

The "Show-Me Heroes" program was established in January 2010 to help Missouri's veterans and members of the National Guard & Reserve reconnect with meaningful careers.  Since its inception, more than 2,700 employers have taken the pledge to be pro-active in their hiring practices in interviewing veterans and hiring them if qualified.

A presentation ceremony was held on January 9, 2013, at CTC's Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, office.  Geoffrey Bieniek from the Fort Leonard Wood Career Center presented the award and a uniform sleeve flag worn in combat theater to Michael W. True, CTC Director.  "This award is given in recognition for your efforts in hiring Missouri's veterans," said Mr. Bieniek.  "I present this to you with gratitude from myself, the Department of Workforce Development, the State of Missouri, and, of course, Missouri's veterans."

In 2012, CTC hired 58 veterans, and overall, one quarter of all CTC employees are veterans or currently serving military members.  "CTC has always been a military-friendly organization, and that is not going to change," said Mike True.  "We recognize the heroic efforts of our veterans and active and Reserve duty employees, have tremendous respect and admiration for all service members, and are committed to hiring them. As a testament, CTC's Fort Leonard Wood office is currently comprised of 100% veteran employees."

CTC has been lauded for its commitment to service members over the years.  The company has earned numerous recognitions from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, including the Patriot Award, the Pro-Patria Award, and the Extraordinary Employer Support Award.  In addition, CTC has twice been named both as a 'Best for Vets Employer' by Military Times EDGE Magazine and a 'Most Valuable Employer for Military' by CivilianJobs.com.  CTC is also a member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of 77 (as of January 4, 2013) companies committed to hiring at least 100,000 veterans by 2020. 28,186 veterans had already been hired by September 30, 2012.
