Escape of an Inmate From the Federal Training Centre


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 13, 2013) - On February 13, 2013, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Maxime Guillemette, an inmate from the Federal Training Centre, a minimum security federal institution, escaped during an escorted temporary absence in Chertsey. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Sûreté du Québec and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Maxime Guillemette, 40 years old, is described as 175 cm in height, his weight is 66 Kg (146 lbs). He has hazel eyes, brown hair, a scar on his left eye and the following tattoos: Right forearm: "East Coast Canada"; right arm: skull, "Ride to Survive"; left arm: "rebelle"; upper and back torso: dragon; middle back: dragon with web. He is serving an indeterminate sentence since March 27, 2002 for second degree murder.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Maxime Guillemette is asked to contact police.

CSC and the Federal Training Centre will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the police to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate's apprehension.
