Autonomic Resources Adds to Its FedRAMP Arsenal

CARY, N.C., June 24, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Autonomic Resources, a Government Cloud Service Provider (CSP) has received approval from the Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMP) to add the Autonomic Resources Cloud Platform (ARC-P) Private cloud service offering to its existing ARC-P authorization boundary which received the first provisional Authority to Operate (ATO) from the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB) in December of 2012 at the Moderate level. The private cloud offering now permits customers to choose either community or private cloud, or both depending on the agency or departments' specific requirements.

FedRAMP provides a streamlined avenue for U.S. federal agencies to make use of cloud service provider platforms and offerings. The FedRAMP program provides an avenue for CSPs to obtain a Provisional Authorization after undergoing a third-party independent security assessment that has been reviewed by the JAB. By assessing security controls on candidate platforms, and providing Provisional Authorizations on platforms that have acceptable risk, FedRAMP enables federal agencies to leverage the security assessment process for the FedRAMP baseline of security controls.

The ARC-P Private service offering provides U.S. Government customers with a hosted private cloud solution utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV). The ARC-P hosted private offering gives government customers fully dedicated compute resources serviced from within the ARC-P security boundary utilizing Active/Hot Redundant CONUS only datacenters.

"Autonomic continues to add to our accredited cloud services with this Red Hat technology stack housed under our FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate. As a Red Hat certified cloud provider (CCP) in the Federal CSP space, we are continuing to work with Red Hat technologies that our customers have come to know and trust," commented John Keese, Autonomic Resources CEO / President.

Autonomic is continuing work on other cloud services including OpenShift by Red Hat a devops PaaS; a Cloud Brokerage platform for management of premise, community, and public cloud environments from a single management portal. Additional efforts are underway to work with a government trusted code project starting in July that will extend the use of multiple open source software technologies from the ARC-P cloud platform.
