(Nasdaq:IPCM), a leading national hospitalist physician group, announced today that it is expanding in Alabama with the acquisition of Baldwin Physician Services, Inc. (BPS), a post-acute hospitalist practice headquartered in Mobile.
R. Jeffrey Taylor, President and Chief Operating Officer of IPC, stated, "IPC entered Alabama in 2011 by contracting with an acute care hospital in Mobile. Since that time, IPC has organically expanded to three hospitals in this market. BPS owners Wendell Erdman, M.D. and William Admire, Jr., D.O. will continue to lead the practice under IPC.
