WCUI Subsidiary CNS-Wellness Enters Into a Partnership With Nationally Renowned Substance Treatment Facility

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CNS-Wellness Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Wellness Center USA, Inc. (OTCQB:WCUI), announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Caron Renaissance (Boca Raton, FL) to initiate a neuro-therapy pilot program for its alcohol and drug abuse patients.

Caron Treatment Centers is a nationally recognized non-profit provider of alcohol and drug addiction treatment. With more than 50 years in the field, Caron Renaissance (Caron) is one of the most prestigious treatment facilities in the country. Caron pioneered the Florida Model of alcohol and drug treatment and is a longer-term, 261 bed adult rehabilitation center. The expert staff at Caron Renaissance specializes in dual-diagnosis and alternative addiction treatment rehabilitation, providing services to patients 18 years of age and older.

Using a leading edge and unique brain-based approach to the treatment of substance abuse and craving disorders, CNS Wellness (CNS) will offer services to the patients for The Neuro-Rehab Program at Caron Renaissance and Caron Ocean Drive. When treating substance abuse and dependence, CNS's approach can make the difference between success and relapse by resetting the brain's addiction network. The pilot program will start in the month of September, 2013 at the Boca Raton, Florida facility.

CNS's Brain mapping identifies dis-regulation in brain function. Neuro-therapy helps with stimulation and feedback to restore brain function to the norm. This is one of the goals of neuro-rehabilitation, and this important component is often overlooked or ignored at other recovery programs and centers.

"The addition of a neuro-rehabilitation program for Caron Renaissance has been a component of a complete program of recovery that we have wanted to include for some time now. We are excited to be able to partner with industry leader CNS Wellness," said Sid Goodman, Executive Director of Caron Renaissance and Caron Ocean Drive of Boca Raton.

"CNS's brain-based approach to assessment, combined with our multimodal neuro-therapy modalities, is ideally suited to broadening the options for care delivery in the Caron Renaissance recovery population," said Dr. William Lambos of CNS. Results from thousands of peer-reviewed journal articles support the efficacy of neuro-therapy in clinical studies: 85% of clients report significant improvement.

According to Mr. Andrew Kandalepas, CEO of Wellness Center USA, Inc., "The growth of CNS's treatment model into the substance abuse and dependence area is a natural extension of our brain-based approach to behavioral health issues. It represents the next stage of evolution in WCUI's development as a leading-edge health care organization."

Alcoholism: Alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance in the U.S., affecting 17.6 million people, or 1 in every 12 adults. More than 50% of all adults have a family history of alcoholism, and more than 7 million children live in a household where at least one parent is dependent or has abused alcohol.

Drug Dependence: 20 million Americans ages 12 or older (8% percent of the U.S. population) used an illegal drug in the past 30 days. Additionally, the abuse of prescription drugs is growing, with an estimated 48 million Americans ages 12 and older (20% of the U.S. population) using prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons.
