Xively Awarded Best Enabling Technology at 2013 M2M Battle of the Platforms

Internet of Things Public Cloud Innovator Recognized for Driving Evolution of M2M Solutions

BOSTON, Aug. 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xively, a subsidiary of LogMeIn (Nasdaq:LOGM) and creator of the first public cloud platform for the commercial Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that Xively Cloud Services was named Best Enabling Technology at the 2013 Battle of the Platforms, during the M2M (Machine-to-Machine) Evolution Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 26, 2013.

The Battle of the Platforms showcased next-generation solutions for enabling connected products of the future. Winners were selected by a panel of industry analyst judges, after presenting their solutions to an audience of executives who want to use the Internet of Things to spur innovation, drive greater value for customers, and boost business revenue.

"This award is particularly gratifying because the analysts who chose Xively are intimately familiar with the limitations of existing M2M solutions, and understand what is needed to enable truly transformative connected solutions on the Internet of Things," said Chad Jones, VP Product Strategy for Xively. "We're honored that, like our customers, the panel recognized that Xively's unique approach makes it easy for businesses to move from ideation to realization, and rapidly build, scale and manage compelling connected solutions."

The IoT market is predicted to generate between $1.2 trillion1 and $14.4 trillion2 in revenue, representing over one trillion connected objects by 20203. In order for businesses to capitalize on this massive opportunity, they must go beyond connecting devices on a network. They need a comprehensive set of services that enable those devices to interact in a meaningful, secure way with applications, users and other devices. However, many organizations are stymied by the enormous complexities and high cost of building and scaling their own IoT infrastructure, and the elongated timeframe required to go from prototype to commercially available offering. Xively Cloud Services is designed to eliminate these complexities and collapse the timeframe, while doing so at a cost that makes IoT development attractive to businesses of all sizes.
