Sprint Wins GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS(R) Title With TMNG's SmartXchange(SM)

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This month, Sprint enters the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® database setting a new record for the number of cellular phones recycled in one week. At 103,582 cell phones, Sprint more than doubled the previous record.

TMNG's SmartXchangeSM was one of several services that supported Sprint's recycling and buyback program to achieve this record. "SmartXchange is designed for innovative device trade-in programs like Sprint's," says Don Klumb, TMNG's CEO. The service gives wireless operators the tools they need to proactively reach out to customers who have used, or unwanted, devices that could be refurbished or resold by the operator. "Sprint has been using SmartXchange for the last three years. Hitting this record is a fantastic recognition of the success of this program," says Kendra Wright, Sprint's Logistics Director for Repair and Reverse Management.

TMNG's SmartXchange, built on the company's Ascertain® platform, provides a comprehensive managed solution that strategically drives customer behavior, improving customer experience and increasing loyalty and retention. SmartXchange supports both operator and customer initiated trade-in activity, and can be combined with other customer lifecycle management programs to enable selective targeting and enhanced financial returns.

"Sprint continues to demonstrate its commitment to mobile phone recycling programs and the benefits they bring to Sprint customers, the wireless industry and the environment," said Kate Pearce, analyst at Compass Intelligence which ranked Sprint No. 1 overall for its Buyback program the last two years among national carriers. "Its Buyback program and other reuse/recycling initiatives continue to be examples of leadership for the industry."
