AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 30, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Freebirds World Burrito, the fast casual burrito concept owned by Tavistock Restaurants, will host a grand re-opening event at its Grapevine location on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Known for its unapologetically independent and rock music-inspired approach to burritos, tacos and nachos, Freebirds World Burrito will re-introduce itself to the community after enduring two years of the construction project on William D. Tate Ave at the restaurant's main entry point.

While several other Grapevine restaurants, including TGI Fridays and Tilted Kilt, closed as a result of the roadwork, Freebirds World Burrito successfully bore numerous road and bridge closures since its grand opening in 2011. The construction, aimed to improve the intersection of 114, 360 and 121, is a part of an elaborate network of highways serving as a thoroughfare between Dallas and Fort Worth, and as the main artery to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The Grapevine Freebirds World Burrito will celebrate the community's loyalty by rewarding the first 25 customers at the location during the re-opening with free burritos for a year. As supplement to its freestanding approach to food, Freebirds World Burrito and its charitable arm, World Works, will also continue its philanthropic support of two local charities: Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange, and Comfort the Children International.
