Premier Exhibitions, Inc. Announces New Pompeii Exhibition

Artifact-Based Exhibition Becomes Company's Eighth Traveling Concept

ATLANTA, Oct. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Premier Exhibitions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRXI), a leading presenter of museum quality touring exhibitions, announced today that it has added an eighth concept to its touring exhibition portfolio. In partnership with the Italian Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Naples and Pompeii (SANP), Premier Exhibitions, Inc. has developed a new exhibition on the story of Pompeii that features over 150 authentic artifacts on loan from the Naples National Archaeological Museum for the next 21 months.

The exhibition offers visitors a rare look at some of the most valuable artifacts recovered from the debris of the city of Pompeii, many of which will be making their North American debut. The Pompeii exhibition will have a limited three-city tour starting at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia when it opens One Day In Pompeii on November 9, 2013. The Exhibition will then be presented at the California Science Center in Los Angeles and the Pacific Science Center in Seattle.

"The addition of Pompeii to our exhibition portfolio marks the first step in a coordinated expansion of the captivating, educational and inspiring new content we are preparing to introduce over the next several years," said Samuel S. Weiser, president and CEO of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. "We firmly believe that these efforts will solidify Premier's industry leading position with our museum and independent promoter partners in the U.S. and around the world."

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with Premier Exhibitions during the Year of Italian Culture in the United States to bring the story of Pompeii to life in North America through these remarkable artifacts from our unparalleled collection," said Valeria Sanpolo, director of the Archaeological Museum of Naples. "Many of these archaeological treasures rarely leave Italy, therefore this exhibition is a unique opportunity to experience Pompeii and the culture of this ancient city frozen in time."

The Pompeii exhibition will join Premier Exhibitions, Inc.'s portfolio of blockbuster exhibitions that utilize authentic artifacts and objects in unique and diverse environments to educate and inspire large audiences around the world. The Company's other exhibitions have collectively been seen by more than 55 million people worldwide, making them among the most attended exhibitions in the world.
