Chegg CEO Named Entrepreneur of the Year

Award Recognizes Innovative and Determined Leadership


WASHINGTON, Oct. 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TechAmerica, the leading U.S. technology association, is pleased to announce that Dan Rosensweig, President and CEO of Chegg is being honored with the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year award for his work in changing the landscape of education technology. Dan will be honored at the David Packard Medal of Achievement and Innovator Awards, November 7, 2013 in Menlo Park, CA.

Every year, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award is bestowed on an individual that incorporates the type of innovative and determined leadership that has helped make the U.S. technology community the global leader.

Since joining Chegg in 2010, Dan has taken the company from a book rental site to being the leading connected learning platform.

Dan brings successful, high-growth consumer business experience to Chegg having served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Guitar Hero and Chief Operating Officer at Yahoo!. Dan was responsible for product development, marketing, international operations and North American operations. Prior to Yahoo!, Dan also served as President of ZDNet where he managed the successful merger with CNET.

Dan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Hobart College in Geneva, New York. He sits on the Advisory Board of the non-profit DonorsChoose.org, contributes as member of the Executives in Residence program at Columbia University and resides on the Board of Directors of Adobe Systems, Inc., and Katalyst Media, Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg's leading social media company.

This year's David Packard Medal of Achievement Award winner is Lowell McAdam, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Verizon.
