HOUSTON, Nov. 13, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority on Monday authorized entering into an interlocal agreement with Harris County to support live streaming of Port Commission meetings.
Harris County has contracted with Swagit Productions, LLC, a company used by many Texas local governments, including the city of Houston, as well as companies across the nation. Harris County is currently implementing its video services.
Also Monday, the Port Commission heard staff presentations regarding the proposed Fiscal Year 2014 Operating and Capital Budget, as well as the proposed Five Year Operating and Capital Plan.
Monday's meeting came a day after the 99th anniversary of the opening of the Houston Ship Channel. The Port Authority is looking forward to the centennial on Nov. 10, 2014.
