Video Display Corporation Announces Simulation Display Contract

ATLANTA, Nov. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Video Display Corporation (Nasdaq:VIDE), a worldwide leader in providing specialized display solutions for Broadcast, Industrial, Simulation and Defense applications, today announced that its Cape Canaveral based VDC Display Systems, Inc. has been selected as the supplier of the Video Display Units (VDU) for the U.S. Army Common Driver Training (CDT) by Raydon Corporation of Port Orange, FL.

As part of this effort, VDCDS will provide Raydon with a High Resolution Visual Display System (HRVDS) that meets and exceeds the requirements for CDT systems for Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Variants, MRAP mobile and fixed systems, and Tank Engineering vehicle variants for the Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentations (PEO STRI).

The Visual System, when integrated with RAYDON's Common Driver Trainer system, will be capable of simulating real world scenarios executing mission procedures in a tactical environment under normal and degraded conditions. The CDT system consists of virtual trainers, which will be used to train members of the armed forces in the operation of the combat vehicles being fielded to Fort Leonard Wood, MO and to bases in both Korea and Japan, as well as technical refresh to existing CDT systems fielded throughout the U.S.

"We at VDC are extremely pleased to have been selected by Raydon Corporation to supply the display system for this very important program," said Mr. Ron Ordway, Video Display Corporation CEO and Chairman.

"VDC is gratified to be part of the team and appreciate Raydon's confidence in selecting VDCDS for this program.  The inclusion of our display system in this program is a prime example of the growing need for low cost high resolution display solutions in which VDC Display Systems' extensive design and manufacturing experience of visual display systems play a critical role."
